Introduction to Deformanet

Automated Defect Detection System

Deformanet is developing an Automated Defect Detection System (ADDS) using photogrammetry and AI Vision.

The ADDS detects defects, including cracks and watertightness, in concrete structures including tunnels, bridges and roads.

Benefits of our system

  • Accurate and repeatable observations in extraordinary resolution. In testing, cracks have been measured to 0.2mm, which is a key requirement of prospective customers, and superior to other providers which have indicated resolution to 0.5mm. We also have the ability to assess watertightness (i.e. capture the location of current or previous water settlement on concrete structures).
  • Much faster than any manual alternative, enhancing the client’s ability to make timely decisions. Our objective is for clients to receive reports within 24 hours of a scan being undertaken.
  • Showcases local innovation with all key personnel based in New South Wales
  • Delivers value to the client, with the cost of implementation being far outweighed from the benefits from more efficent remediation and maintence expendiure, and increased asset longevity.

Current status

We have established Proof of Concept at our facility in Western Sydney, We are now preparing for a pilot at a client site, in advance of deployment at that client.
